"BRABUS社によって製作されたスペシャルモデル"

本個体はドイツのメルセデス・チューナー「BRABUS」によるスペシャルオーダー物で、特別なスマートです。

まず目を引くのはマットグリーンのボディカラーでしょう。

NATOカラーは当時、塗ってはいけない色だと言われており、特に希少です。ファッションにミリタリー要素を加えることが今ほどポピュラーになる前に、このような車両がつくられていたという事は、最先端のセンスであったと言えるのではないでしょうか。

フロント16インチ、リア17インチのブラバスホイールはもちろんのこと、フロント、サイド、リアには日本国内には設定のなかったブラバス“ワイドスター"エアロパーツが奢られています。

キュートなスマートが、ここまで精悍に、かつ迫力たっぷりに生まれ変わることができるとは、普通は想像もつかないことかも知れません。車体両側にある“ワイドスター"と書かれたフュールリッド、実は左側はフェイクで、右側が本物の給油口となっているなど、遊び心も忘れていません。

インテリアもまた、特別注文となるブラックのレザー&アルカンターラ仕上げです。
パンチング・アルカンターラとレザーのコンビシートは座り心地も良く、スモールカーでありながらラグジュアリィカーのクオリティを実現しています。

さらに、BRABUSのロゴ入りメーター(このようなディテールこそコンプリートの証です)、専用デザインのパドルシフト付ステアリングホイールとアクセル&ブレーキペダルなど、至るところでこだわりのディテールが特別なモデルであることをアピールしています。

そして、ジョエ・コロンボのデザインした名作家具「ボビー・ワゴン」を彷彿とさせる、ピボット式8連CDホルダーや収納も日常での使用を楽しくさせてくれます。

もちろん走りの面においても、抜かりはありません。専用スポーツサスペンションやスポーツマフラー、専用ECUチューンなど、迫力のエクステリアデザインに見合った力強い走りをお楽しみ頂けることでしょう。

シュテルン(ディーラー)にて平成17年、平成19年、平成21年の定期点検記録簿が備わっています。

また、現在では珍しいナショナル製純正マグネシウムライトが付属しています。

"スマートの歴史"

スマートは、自動車メーカーのメルセデスベンツ(当時はダイムラークライスラー)と、時計ブランドのスウォッチ(SMH社)が共同で設立した合弁会社”MCC”(マイクロ・カー・カンパニー)によって開発されたマイクロカーです。途中でSMH社が撤退するも、ダイムラー社の完全子会社となって1997年に発表されました。

全長わずか2.5mという小さなボディサイズでありながら、乗員2名が快適に過ごせる空間と、メルセデス基準の高い安全性を備えており、さらに愛らしいルックスも手伝って、世界的なヒット作となりました。

ボディスタイルは「クーペ」からスタートし、その後、オープンモデルの「カブリオ」、屋根もドアも備えない大胆なスタイリングの「クロスブレード」、スポーツクーペを意識した「ロードスター」などと展開して行き、多くのファンを獲得しています。

現在では第三世代のモデルが発表されています。

“One of Two Special Models”


BRABUS, a tuning company specializes in Mercedes-Benz, placed an order for two custom-made Smarts; this car is one of them.

Matt green body color is very eye-catching.
The color is very rare to be seen on a vehicle because NATO colors were forbidden to use back then. It can be said that BRABUS had a keen foresight because they utilized a military look element into the cars when it was not fashionable to do so.

Many parts that were not available in Japan are adopted: BRABUS wheels, frond 16 inches, rear 17 inches; front, side, rear spoilers.

Transforming a cute little Smart into a tough and powerful looking car was something no one expected.
While the car appears to be toughie, BRABUS added some playful taste to it by a putting fuel tank cover on both sides, one of which has “Widestar” and is an imitation.

The interior is finished with custom-ordered black leather and alcantara. Despite the size, this small car offers luxury-car-like seating comfort achieved by alcantara/leather combination.

Additional characters of being the extraordinary model are, a gage with BRABUS logo, a special design steering wheel with paddle shifters, and gas and brake pedal.

A pivot-shaped 8-disc CD holder which reminds us of the masterpiece furniture “Boby Wagon”, designed by Joe Colombo, make daily use of fun and practical.

Of course, performance upgrades had been done as well. The exclusive sports suspensions, a sports muffler, and a special ECU were equipped to complement with the exterior design.

A service log shows that periodical inspections had been done in 2005, 2007, and 2009 at the Mercedes-Benz dealership.
A rare magnesium light made by National, a Japanese electronics company, is included as a genuine accessory.

“History of Smart”

Smart was a microcar invented by MCC (Micro car company) which was established by Mercedes-Benz (At that time Daimler-Benz) and SMH (Swiss Corporation for Microelectronics and Watching Industries Ltd). SMH had dropped out from the project in the middle of the development. Smart was introduced in 1997.

The car becomes a worldwide hit because of the spacious interior design while it is being a small car, 2.5m long, and the Mercedes-standard safety.

The models made evolution starting from coupe, cabriolet, roofless and doorless Crossblades, and then to a sports coupe like Roadstar. The third generation models are currently available.
