”オラチオ・パガーニ自らがベスト・ロードスターと呼ぶ1台”

2015年12月18日(金)、富士スピードウェイで行われたワールドプレミアにおいて発表されたのが、ここで紹介する”パガーニ・ゾンダ 希龍”です。

”パガーニ・ゾンダ 希龍”は、サーキット専用モデルであるゾンダ・レボリューションのイメージを色濃く反映させた、ロードゴーイング仕様のロードスターといっていいでしょう。この戦闘的なフォルムをまとう、ブルーカーボンも鮮やかな”ゾンダ 希龍”は、富士に集まった多くの来場客を沸かせるとともに、国内外のメディアにも大きく取り上げられ、一躍、世界中の熱狂的なパガーニエンスージアストの注目を一身に集めることになりました。

ベースとなったのは、ゾンダFロードスターです。そもそも、ゾンダFのロードスター自体が、生産台数わずかに25台という非常にスペシャルな存在で、そこに初代オーナーのオーダーでありとあらゆるスペシャル装備が施されました。

最大の特徴は、もちろん、エクステリアデザインでしょう。基本的には、一連のワンオフモデル、ゾンダ760系たちと同じ手法でデザインされていますが、そこはカスタムオーダーに強いパガーニのこと、オーダーしたオーナーの希望がそこかしこに散りばめられています。

”ゾンダ 希龍”は、パガーニ得意のブルーカーボンペイントで彩られています。見る角度によってカーボンの地紋が浮かんだり消えたりするという、絶妙なカラーバリエーションが特徴です。エアインテーク、カナード、リアディフューザーといった、アップグレードされたエアロパーツは、サーキット専用のゾンダ・レボリューションとの血縁関係を彷彿とさせ、比類のない迫力と美しさを”ゾンダ 希龍”に与えています。ヘッドライト及びテールライトリング、エアインテーク、ウィングステーはブルーのダイキャストで美しく統一されています。

ロードスターベースであるがゆえ、カーボンパネルとクロスで構成されるトップを開けると、エアインテークとシャークフィンが屹立してみえ、その出で立ちは極めてユニークです。シャークスタイルのテールフィンは、760系において考案された空力デザインで、ル・マン24時間レースなどを戦うレーシングマシンに採用されたエアロダイナミクス処理でもあります。その他、金属パーツはオーダーした初代オーナーの希望に従って、ほとんど全てブルーアルマイトとされています。

インテリアのコーディネーションもエクステリアの表現手法に準じたものとされました。レザー、アルカンターラ、アルミ、カーボンのコンビネーションにより、ストイックでありながらもラグジュアリーな要素を兼ね備えた空間となっていて、特に濃淡2トーンのブルーレザーで仕立てられたシートが、”ゾンダ 希龍”のキャラクターを特によく物語っているといえるでしょう。ドアを開けると、そこにはウアイラと同様に、チタンカーボンのボディ骨格が見えます。

最初のオーナーがこの個体を正規輸入元であるビンゴスポーツを通じてパガーニ本社へと発注したのは、2013年のことでした。それから完成するまでに、実におよそ2年半を要したということも、スペシャルオーダーならではの逸話と言っていいでしょう。

“What Horacio Pagani calls his best roadster”
　
The 2015 Pagani Zonda Kiryu introduced here made its debut at Fuji International Speedway on December 18th, 2015.
　
Simply put, Pagani Zonda Kiryu is the road-going Zonda Roadster with numerous race-oriented details derived from the king-of-track Zonda Revolucion.　This Zonda Kiryu did not only wow the big crowd who gathered at Fuji with its aggressively-shaped body and innovative blue-carbon paint, but also got featured by numerous foreign and international media.　The premier held simultaneously with Bingo Sports' track day was so overwhelming that Kiryu instantly became a topic of conversation among Pagani enthusiasts all over the world.
　
Based on the Zonda F Roadster which was already special enough with a production volume of just 25 cars to begin with, the Kiryu was given practically every custom-built feature available at the first owner's request.
　
Its exterior design has to be what makes the Kiryu stands out the most before anything else.　As is always the case with them, the designers at Pagani accommodated as much of what the owner requested as possible on top of the 760-series' general design.
　
In addition, the Kiryu is finished in Pagani's own “Blue Carbon Fiber,” where braided carbon fiber shows through semi-transparent blue paint.　Much to the surprise of many, the body color looks different from every angle.　To prove its close genetic ties with the Zonda Revolucion, the Kiryu exhibits so much aerodynamic improvements and unparalleled presence over the Zonda F by the addition of a several air scoops, front bumper canards, rear diffusers among others.　The headlight/tail lamp rings, air scoops, and wing stay are all made of blue die-cast materials for giving some sense of uniformity.
　
Wrapped in a roadster body, the Kiryu looks quite original especially without carbon-fiber/canvas roof where the air scoop and dorsal fin stand out more than with it in place.　The dorsal fin, widely used on sport prototype racers seen at races like 24 Hours of LeMans today, was first designed and equipped for the 760 series.　Most of the visible metal pieces were made of blue anodized aluminum to meet the first owner's request.
　
The interior of the Zonda Kiryu was designed and coordinated in the same way the exterior was.　Overall, it's the place where leather, alcantara, aluminum, and carbon fiber are skillfully blended to achieve the best balance between sportiness and luxuriousness.　Among all the interior pieces, it probably is the leather-wrapped bucket seats in two-toned blue that speak the loudest about the character of this vehicle.　With the doors open, the Kiryu's driver can see the titanium/carbon-fiber body structure as in the Huayra.
　
The first owner placed an order in 2013 through Bingo Sports, the official Pagani dealership in Japan.　It was not too unusual for this kind of taylor-made vehicle to take the factory about two and a half years to build.
